Overview
Contractors are often asked for proof of insurance before they can start a job, and the Contractors State License Board (CSLB) has its own requirements to get and keep a license.
We help general contractors and specialty trades put the right coverage and bonds in place, and provide certificates quickly when a client or general contractor asks for one.

General contractors and specialty trades, including electricians, plumbers, HVAC, painters, roofers, flooring, landscaping, handymen and more.
The CSLB requires a contractor license bond, and contractors with employees must have workers' comp on file. Some trades, such as roofing, must carry workers' comp even without employees.

Common questions
Do I need a bond for my contractor's license?
Yes. The CSLB requires a contractor license bond to issue and keep an active license. We can help you get it.
Do I need workers' comp if I have no employees?
Most contractors without employees can file an exemption with the CSLB. Some trades, like roofing, must carry workers' comp regardless. We'll help you figure out what applies to you.
A general contractor asked me for a certificate of insurance. Can you send it?
Yes. Once your policy is active, send us the details of who needs the certificate and any requirements, like additional insured wording, and we'll take care of it.
How much general liability do I need?
Many clients and general contractors ask for $1 million per occurrence, but requirements vary by job. Check your contracts and we'll match them.
