Overview
Auto repair and service businesses face risks most businesses don't: customers' vehicles parked on your lot or in your bays, claims that a repair caused damage, employee injuries around lifts and tools, and expensive equipment.
We'll look at what kind of work you do, how many vehicles you typically have in your care, and what your landlord requires, then build coverage that fits your shop.

Who it's for
Auto repair shops, service and maintenance centers, tire and lube shops, body shops, detailers, and other businesses that work on customers' vehicles.
General liability alone usually doesn't cover damage to a customer's car while it's in your shop. Garagekeepers coverage is designed for exactly that.

Common questions
What's the difference between garage liability and garagekeepers?
Garage liability covers injuries and damage your operations cause to others. Garagekeepers covers customers' vehicles while they're in your care, for example if a car is damaged by fire, theft or vandalism at your shop.
Do I need workers' comp for my mechanics?
Yes. California requires employers to carry workers' compensation, including for part-time employees.
Are my tools and equipment covered?
Property coverage can include your lifts, tools and diagnostic equipment. We'll make sure the limits match what your equipment is actually worth.
My landlord requires specific coverage. Can you match it?
Yes. Send us the insurance section of your lease and we'll make sure your policy and certificate meet it.
